Grateful Academy Costa Rica Jan 2024

We are happy to announce the Second Annual  Grateful Dead Academy at the Grateful Hotel in Costa Rica! 

At the end of January, we spend four days at Grateful Dead-themed resort learning how to play Grateful Dead music. Sounds like a dream right? Come January 2024, you can join us!

The Grateful Hotel is located in Northwestern Costa Rica in a quiet rural area named Playa Grande Estates, just minutes from the beach. The hotel features 10 rooms, a pool, restaurant, full bar, free WIFI, and is only a 10 minute boat ride from Tamarindo.

Our workshops will be January 25-27 culminating with a showcase during “Sunday Funday” on January 28. Each day we will examine different aspects of Grateful Dead music including specific guitar parts, chord changes, technique, improvisation, theory, and history. Each night will be a performance by Nate LaPointe that will feature optional sit-ins by academy students in front of a live audience in the dinner area.

Your tuition covers your room for 5 nights, all workshops, breakfast each day, and taxes. Other meals, drinks, and activities are not included. Total *early bird* cost is $1695. Prices go up October 15, 2023!

Space is limited, maximum of 10 attendees. Bring your own instrument.

Fundamental knowledge and experience on your instrument is suggested.
